Not sure what to say?

I met Glenda in the mid '70's, when she was a customer at my mothers frame shop in Goddard. She was far more than a customer, though, she was a very good friend to my mom and a wonderful person to be around. She always had a smile and a positive attitude, in spite of the challenges she faced.

Glenda will always be remembered fondly by all who met her and her art work will brighten the world for many generations to come.

Condolences to Jerry, Derek and all of her family and...

I started my friendship with Glenda and Jerry 6 1/2 years ago. The first time I arived at there house to deliver groceries. Glenda treated me as family from day one. She was the most loving person I've ever met and was a joy to visit , listen , and laugh with. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time of sorrow.

My sister and I grew up playing with Derek while the grown-ups were talking (ok, Glenda and Jerry never grew up, but, you know). I got to watch Derek grow up to be a man, who happened to fall in love with and marry my sister. They've given me two very talented nephews that I enjoy so much. We know where their artistic ability comes from, but I also enjoyed Glenda's sharp wit and her laugh, and her peculiar little oddities (like her thumb that could bend the wrong way back). And I still...

Mr. Wathen & family,
I want to express my deepest sympathy. I met you and your wife while taking my children trick-or-treating in Towanda. Several years in a row you ask the kids to step inside to see their costumes and you were both the kindest people. Glenda's art work was so beautiful. I will keep you in my prayers.

My husband went to school with Glenda in Kaincaid Ks. I meat her at one of the Kincaid fair. she was so sweet we went to see her a couple of times she had a great smile all the time if you were down she would always cheer you up she will be miss a lot .May the Lord be with all of you.

Our deepest Condolences to the family of Glenda. My Husband and I attended High School with her and amired her art work very much

My first encounter with Mrs. Wathen was in the 1970's when I lived in Greensburg and helped put on an art show. I remember her lovely paintings she had entered and had visited with her. I think she lived in Towanda then. Such a talented and gracious lady.My condolences to her family.

To Jerry, Derek, and the grandchildren, my deepest and most sincere symphathies. Glenda was the dearest friend a person could have, and an artist beyond compare. Losing her will touch us all for a long time. She was always there for all of us, online and as a friend. I felt she was an amazing lady from the first time I met her at the Kansas Muzzleloading Assn. Convention many, many years ago.
I still own an original oil painting she donated to the auction, and display it proudly in my...
