Glenda Woodard was born July 30th ,1954 to the late Curtis Sr. and Alberta Woodard in Wynne, AR. She later confessed Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church Wynne, AR, where she later served as a member, treasurer and choir director of the inspirational choir. Glenda was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Joseph Cater and lived in Chicago and Atlanta during that time. Glenda attended Childress High School and Wynne High School where she graduated in 1972. She attended Arkansas State University, where she sang in the community choir and also sang for the Wynne Community Choir. Glenda loved playing softball and roller skating. She also had a love for flowers, plants and gardening. She volunteered with Another Girls on Fire as well. Upon Glenda’s return from Atlanta to Wynne, she became involved with her brothers in their businesses. She later received her license in Funeral Directing from the Arkansas State Board of Funeral Directors and worked as a Funeral Director for Woodard Funeral Services until her health failed.


On Monday October, 18th 2021 at 5:20pm, Glenda traded in her "Earthly Robe" and adorned her "Heavenly Robe" to join and sing in The Heavenly Choir.


Glenda was preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Alberta Woodard, oldest brother Jerry Woodard, Sister In-law Pamela Woodard, niece Terriah Woodard, nephew Joe H. Collins and great nephew Ejay Dylon.  Glenda leaves to cherish her memories 2 sisters, Betty Eskridge of Michigan City, IN and Brenda (Gerald) Hubbard of Atlanta, GA. 2 brothers, Terry (Dr. Sheila) Woodard and James Curtis Woodard both of Wynne, AR, the staff of Woodard Funeral Service (Jerry and Regina Crockett, Nieces Londyn McDaniel and Tammy Hancock, Gregory Robinson, Jimall Boyd, Calvin Stone, David Howard, Derrick Bailey), 3 God-Son’s Shedrica McClinic, Marcus McClinic, Jessie Jones and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.


 


Funeral Service will be Saturday October 23rd,  2021: Public viewing at 10:00 am and Service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. 


Location: Union Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Wynne, Arkansas.

Visitation will be Friday October 22nd, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m.
