Robinson Funeral Home & Crematory - Downtown Obituary

Glenn Thomas Bailey - Powdersville, SC On Sunday June 1, 2008, Glenn left his earthly body and now resides in Heaven. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Donna ; his daughter and son-in-law, Sarah Beth and Jonathan West ; his sister, Judy Bailey Lloyd; two grandchildren, Anna Legan West and Bailey West ; and many other family members. He also leaves behind many dear friends and his church family at Brookwood Church. He worked for thirty three years as the General Manager at Foothills Motorsports in Powdersville and retired in 2004. Mr. Bailey was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, the son of the late James Henry and Sarah King Bailey. II Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old is gone and the new has come." Everyone that knew Glenn saw the change that Christ made in his life. It was obvious in the way that Glenn lived that the Lord was in his heart. He fought his cancer with dignity and grace and in death taught us a lot about life. He reminded us that all of our futures are in God's hands and that He doesn't make mistakes. Although we prayed for more time on earth with Glenn, God decided to heal him in Heaven. Glenn had incredible strength that came from the Lord Jesus Christ and it is that same strength that will sustain us until we see him again. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday June 5, 2008 at 6:00 pm at the Brookwood Church Amphitheater. At Glenn's request, dress for the memorial service will be casual. Memorials may be made to Brookwood Church, 580 Brookwood Point Place, Simpsonville, SC 29681 or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621. Condolences may be expressed online at www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com. Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road is assisting the family.

Donna and family, our heart aches, knowing how much yours must ache. Pleased be assured, the names of the Bailey, Legan, and West families are echoing all over Heaven from our prayers and the hundreds of others, mentioning your name to our Father. We are praying that the ""God of All Comfort"", will comfort you with His love, His Peace and His Strength! John 14:16-24 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit...

The world has lost a wonderful husband, father, grandfather & friend. As a friend & fraternity brother, he will be missed but never forgotten. I love all my brothers! ATO

Dear Donna, and family. My heart is saddened by the death of my Fraternity Brother. Glenn is a super guy ( for he lives again) He lives in the hearts of all who knew him. E-mails have been flying all over the country to our 120 fraternity brothers. Ken Carrol, Marshal Costa, Bill Miller, and Mike Dunsizer let me know. You should know that Jack Lichtenberg, Pat Brown and glenn Stangland have already e-mailed me. We gave him the information from the Robinson Funeral Home. Again, I loved Glenn...

Donna: Your loving husband was a giver. Thank you for sharing him with me. He was an inspiration to me when I called him for cancer advice, and as I am now with his oncologist, he certainly did direct me down a the correct path. Thank you for sharing. Judy Kolkman see you next year to decorate for the Christmas Season

My heart is with your family at this time of grief and sorrow. I hope God can give you peace that he is with Him in heaven. I will keep you all in my prayers. God Bless, Chris Culp McIntyre
