Broomhead Funeral Home - Riverton Obituary

Glenn Bert Cherrington, 84, of Riverton, Utah, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026. He was born July 12, 1941, in Payson, Utah, to Amyot “Bert” Cherrington and Julia Aileen Cherrington. He grew up with 5 brothers and sisters on a farm in Springville.

Glenn graduated from Springville High School and later attended Southern Utah University. He built a respected and enduring career in banking and finance, dedicating more than 30 years of service to Draper Bank and Trust.

He was married and sealed in the temple to Patricia Denny, and together they raised four rambunctious sons. Glenn often joked that, with all the adventures and mischief they found, it was a wonder they all made it through childhood. Later, he married Annette, and together they shared many years with their blended family. In his later years, Glenn found companionship with Linda, with whom he enjoyed many memorable camping adventures.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Glenn found his greatest happiness in hunting, fishing, camping, and gathering around a fire with his sons, grandchildren, and loved ones. He also loved the game of golf where he nurtured friendships and strengthened family relationships.

Glenn had a remarkable gift for making each person in his life feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. His warmth, humor, and steady quiet presence will be profoundly missed.

He is survived by his children Daniel Glenn, Todd Denny, Kelly Bert (Lynn), and Bradley Jay (Kristie); as well as Richard, Jennifer (Nicole), Michael (Victoria), Paul (Sara), Danny (Tanya), Paula (Steve), and Kelly. He also leaves behind 29 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. His siblings Paul Cherrington, Stephen (Lynne) Cherrington, Patricia (Raymond) Jensen, Thomas (Mary) Cherrington, Jan (Kean) Ridd all of whom carry forward his legacy of love and family. He is preceded in death by Patricia Denny and his parents, Amoyt “Bert” and Julia.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 South 2200 West Riverton, UT 84065.

Glenn will be remembered for his love of family and his adventurous spirit. His legacy will live on in the countless memories shared by those who knew and loved him.
