Mr Moore was a constant part of my school life. I first met him as a student at School Street School in the early 60’s. Gym class and various events he championed such as Field Day, Square Dances and the May Pole dance.
He got me involved in sports with the building of my confidence in my ability’s to “If you put you heart into it you can do ANYTHING “!!
I will always hold a part of him close. Rest In Peace Mr Moore........

My Brother Chuck and I were fortunate enough to have Glenn as our head counselor at Trout Lake Camp. We became close at the reunions with Buzz Aldren.
I tried to reach him to tell him Chuck was seriously in trouble at Newton Mem. Hospital ICU with failed organs. He is thankfully better after day 7 and the family remains positive for a full recovery.
Very sorry for your loss.
I am trying to reach Claire by phone today.

Glenn and Kevin Shaw at Kevin's parents memorial burial - June 2011
I just found out about Glenn's passing. I wanted to post here in the online guest book so I revived it for another year. I lived next door to Claire and Glenn in Lincoln Park back in the 1950s. I went to Trout Lake Camp in the summer of 1959 when I was 9 yrs old, and had never been away from home like that before that. Glenn and Claire were my surrogate parents that summer at camp, and really looked out after me. Such a wonderful man, he always called me "sweet Kevin". I had such a fondness...

Hustle, Harmony, Humility, Honesty. The BHS tennis team met for the new season and Coach Moore said, "I want you to remember the four "H"s now and throughout your life:
Hustle--Do your best always no matter how you feel about yourself or the situation.
Harmony--Understand that you are on a team. Help your team mates and we will all be successful.
Humility--We will win and we will lose. Always be gracious in both situations.
Honesty--Be true to yourself about your ability in...

The Lincoln Park Summer Camp in the mid-1960s was also my earliest memory of Mr. Moore. He once led the campers on a walk through the woods above Mountain Heights Avenue to a day out at the old Alpine House, a real treat for kids in those days, most of whom didn't have access to a pool. Another time he organized a limbo contest in, of all places, the Board Room of the old LP Borough Hall.
Glen would later become my Sunday School teacher at the First Reformed Church, to which he was...

My first vivid memory of Glenn Moore has to be from about 1964-65. I attended a summer day camp at Chapel Hill School, about 200 yards from my house on Terrace Parkway. It seemed like a big adventure at the time.
Glenn was one of the counselors at the camp and if I close my eyes I can still see and hear him, clapping wildly and leading all us kids in a rousing chorus of "Mean Old Dunderback and his Sausage Meat Machine"...it's a real camp song! Google it!
Little did I know that...
