Did you know him? He died in his sleep on April 9, 2010, after a short illness at age 91. Perhaps you knew him early in life as "Glenn" when he went through Grafton Elementary School (the old Norcross school on North Street, Grafton, now a little league baseball park), or Grafton High School (the...

Dear Lucy, Joan and family,

Paul and I were very sad to get the news. We always enjoyed running into Glenn and Lucy at the Grafton Inn. He always had a smile and words to live by. His loss will be felt by so many. We know that words can't fill the void but your wonderful memories will be a great source of comfort. The stories of happier times. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Warm Hugs,

To the Nichols family: My father, John Perkins, and my siblings were big fans of Mr. Nichols. I was too old to ride his bus but I heard all about it from them. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Pamela (Perkins) O'Malley

I, too, read your obituary. I did not know Glenn, but felt that I did know him after such a wonderful obituary. It was the most descriptive that I have ever read. He would be very proud of the writer. Sorry for your loss.

Hey ,Rocky everything that was said about you in your obit was right on . You did your job and more with all the kids including my children Leeanne,Glenn and Gary every day to and from school. You are the best and so is your grand daughter Lucy Ann. My wife Kathy is waiting with Lucy to take one last picture of you with all the kids. Our prayers go out to Mrs Nichols and your entire family . We will all miss you. Joe Mewhiney and family

I did not have the honor of knowing Mr. Nichols, but after reading about him - I wish I had. That just might be the best obituary ever written. My sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Nichols, as I'm quite sure he will be greatly missed.

Lucy & Family,
My heart goes out to all of you in this tough time. Glennie was such a wonderful man and touched so many people. I can remember the times he would come to Vermont-whether it be for snowmobling, a party, or just for a visit, hunting, and yes can't forget my wedding. He will never be forgotten. My thoughts are with you all.

Gordon, Mrs. Nichols, and all the Nichols family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Dads surely are a treasure. First, I knew him as "Mrs. Nichols' husband" - because she was my teacher. Then I knew him as a bus driver - and would take my job as teacher over his any day. Later, my parents and I would run into Glenn and Lucy at the Grafton Inn, and would catch up on family happenings and town gossip. He truly was a remarkable man, and he will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to all of...

Ray,Pam and family,
