Rossi Funeral Home - Scotch Plains Obituary

Glenn P. Stuart, 63, passed away on Wednesday February 28, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. His loving family was at his side.

Glenn was born May 18, 1960 in Staten Island and moved to Marlboro, NJ in his early teens. He married the love of his life Grace in September 1997 and they moved to Brick, NJ. They settled in Fanwood, NJ in 2005 to raise their children Annie and Sean.
From a young age Glenn knew he wanted to entertain people. As a young boy, he started playing drums on his brother John’s drum set in their home. He then began playing in various bands from high school on until he joined the Bstreetband, the longest running Springsteen tribute band, in 1990 as their frontman.

No one could entertain like Glenn with his infectious smile, his incredible voice and his quick wit. He was humble and approachable. It was so important to him to put on the best show possible and honor Bruce Springsteen at every performance. He wanted to make people happy, and that he did.

In 2020, Glenn achieved his dream of releasing his own music through his album “American Dreamscapes.” He created this body of work while battling lung cancer for the first time during COVID-19. In 2022 Glenn released one of his last songs, “Highways and Rivers,” which captured his own Springsteen story and what Springsteen’s music and persona meant to him.

Glenn was a loving and caring husband, father and friend. He was a talented song writer, a wonderful cook and an avid NY Mets fan. He loved listening to music. He was a big fan of Bruce Springsteen and Peter Gabriel. He was passionate about politics. He loved scuba diving. He adored his dogs, Mocha and Gigi. But mostly he loved being with his family.

Glenn is predeceased by his parents James and Hazel and brothers Jimmy and Gary Stuart. He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years Grace M. (nee Arnow-Perfilio), loving children Annie and Sean, caring siblings John, Kathleen and Christine Stuart, his loving in-laws, Betty and Tony Perfilio, and brothers-in-law Evan Arnow-Perfilio and wife Kirsten, and Tony Perfilio and wife Alexandra. Glenn is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday March 6, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm at the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Avenue Scotch Plains, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday March 7, 2024, at 11am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1571 S. Martine Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ.

Not sure what to say?

Thanks for the great memories of playing my parties in Florida! RIP

Sorry to hear of your loss Stuart Family. Gone way too soon.I have great memories of singing with Glenn on stage at my Birthday & Xmas parties in Florida!

I knew Glenn through my sister Sylvia, a friend of his and photographer of the band. He was charming, cool, a deeply talented musician and great singer and performer. Above all he was a great human being. The band let me play onstage with them a couple of times, and perfoming alongside Glenn was a big thrill. The world has lost a great soul. I wish the best for his family, and the fllows in the B-Street Band.

Hey grace and family
I will miss Glenn he always make me smile when I see him on stage
Love
Lauren and Marc

My husband, Jim, and I have enjoyed Glenn and the B Street Band for the past 20 years. We always had a fun time. Glenn was not only talented but very friendly. He was funny, and we enjoyed his sense of humor. We will miss him greatly.

Dear Grace, Annie, and Sean,

There are truly no words to express our deepest sympathy to you. Glenn had a heart of gold filled with love and pride for his family. Some of our best memories were created by Glenn’s unforgettable performances, incredible voice, and entertaining style. He was not only a talented musician, but a genuine friend. Rest in peace, Glenn, and know you truly rocked our heart and soul always and will be missed and loved forever.

To Grace, Annie and Sean, I am shocked by this news and my heart goes out to you all and the extended family during this time of sadness. I first met Glenn in the 80's when my friend Grace said "you've got to hear this band'. Glenn was an incredible person, gifted musician and talented singer who lit up a room with his voice, music, style and charisma. But most of all he was a wonderful husband, father and friend. He will be so very missed and I know that right now he is singing his...
