Habing Family Funeral Home Obituary

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, (Auntie!), Friend, Lifelong Gilroyan and local south county resident, Gloria Caliri, passed away July 25,2025
peacefully in her sleep. She was just shy of her 91st birthday.

She is predeceased by her husband, Frank Caliri, and son, Don Caliri. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Caliri (Terry Wheeler) and granddaughter, Isabella Caliri, grandchildren, Krystal Romero (Brian), Tony Caliri, two great grandchildren, Connor and Mackenzie Romero, longtime friend Albert Signorotti, and Cira’, her faithful and loving dog from Ciro’ in Calabria , Italy.

Gloria was born in Morgan Hill to Swiss-Italian immigrants from Ticino Switzerland and Lugo ,Italy. She married Frank Caliri from Gilroy in 1954.
Together they were a great team. She and Frank were active in the business community and grew the family business, Gilroy Cable TV, along with partner Ben Tsuda.

She and Frank energetically supported the Gilroy Garlic Festivals; a success from the outset. Gloria also worked as a bookkeeper for other businesses such as Sarah’s Vineyard, Sunshine Bicycles and for the Historical Miller Red Barn. She accomplished all this while raising a family and keeping the home front organized.

In her 40’s, Gloria learned to fly small private airplanes and loved it! She and Frank flew all over the western US and Alaska and made many trips to Tahoe to ski and work at their little cabin.

She was active in the community, family oriented and known for amazing Italian dishes. She will be missed by all who knew her and all who loved her! ❤

Services to be held at Guglielmo’s Winery Heritage Room, 1480 East Main Street, Morgan Hill, September 6,2025 at 12 Noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Miller Red Barn, SPCA, Alzheimer’s Association or charity of your choice.

Spunky----is how I remember your mom Gloria ... always with spunk and a smile. So active, joyful and talented in all area's of skills. Loved that she was a pilot, much before the times woman were pilots.. fun family times and skiiing.. Orginaly lived down the street then they moves out to Caliri Crt.. Great gal and mom.. Susan, you too are an amazing gal... your Dad too full of fun!!
She will be missed!!!

I met Gloria when she was a part time bookkeeper for the Visitor Bureau. I admired her for her skills, her bicycling and her trips to Italy. She loved her children and grandchildren and was always looking out for them. Gloria was a long time member and supporter of the Gilroy Historical Society as well as the Miller Red Barn.

Susan please except my heartfelt prayers for the loss of your Mom. May God guide you and be with you and your extended families as you grieve your loss. Keeping you all in prayer

What a pleasure to have known you since Gilroy High School. May you rest in Peace in God's Hands. Larry Connell

Gloria was an amazing lady. She was always such a delight to visit with. Frank and Gloria were so kind to my Mom and Dad, Art and Elizabeth Baxter too. Something would go wrong with the TV, and Frank was right over to help. Then, everyone would sit and visit!! That was the way life was in older Gilroy days. Gloria was a strong, cheerful , wonderful person. She will be missed. I know God has plans for her..

Our deepest sympathy to the family. Gloria was a real sweetheart ❤
