Gloria Davey Obituary

DAVEY Gloria Ritter Davey, beloved wife of Jack Davey, died peacefully between 3:00 and 5:00 AM on Saturday, November 18, 2006. She was born in New Orleans, LA, September 7, 1927. She achieved a B.S. degree in Nursing from LSU, married in 1950 and was a terrific mother to her two children: Candace Jean Davey and Dr. Kent Ritter Davey. She has three grandchildren: Adrian Davey, Zachary Shawn Davey, and Masha Jacqueline Davey and is the sister of Peggy Ritter Heck of St. Bernard/Ponchatoula. Gloria is the daughter of the late Eugene Albery Ritter and Elizabeth Ahten Ritter. Gloria worked as a registered nurse at Veteran's Hospital-Lakeside, Charity Hospital and West Jefferson Hospital Emergency Room. She was a girl scout leader, an exercise leader for NORD, a member of the Aurora Garden Club, a cub boy scout leader, was active in local public schools, an active member of the St. Stephens Lutheran Church and a square dancer. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 12:00 noon. Candy and family, Please accept my condolences. I fondly remember your mom from going to your house for girl scouts and making our leather gifts. She was always so kind to us. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss and the community's loss of a very wonderful woman. I hope you can find some peace in your memories.
