Gloria Goodwin Wright, age 82, was called home to glory on April 27, 2020, at Franciscan Healthcare, Michigan City, Indiana.Mrs. Gloria Wright was born in Michigan City, Indiana, on December 13, 1937, as one of 8 children to the late Willie and Nellie (Calloway) Goodwin. On April 23, 1960 she was united in marriage to Eugene Wright. They were married 56 years and were blessed with10 children: Phyllis, Grace, John, Kathy, Cherman, Todd, Anthony, Brad, Eugene, and Mark.

Gloria was a devoted wife and mother. She and Eugene delighted in being together. They enjoyed simple pleasures like going for a drive in the country and shopping in Toto. She found joy in taking care of her family and others by baking and cooking. Even while raising her ten children, she had time for everyone. No one was shortchanged as she provided time and opportunities for her children and grandchildren.
Gloria accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized under the Pastorate of the late M. H. Raspberry. She spent many years as an active member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, involved in the Nurses Ministry and working in the kitchen. She was also a dedicated and devoted worker on the Pastor's Anniversary Committee, serving for over ten consecutive years under the leadership of Rev. Eddie L. Jenkins.
Her love for God allowed her to be a part of other churches in the community as well. After her husband passed away, she became a member of Evergreen Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Jon Rumley until the Lord called her home.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Eugene Wright; two brothers, William H. (Sarah) Goodwin and Roy Goodwin; five sisters, Annie L.
