Gloria Guzman Obituary

Gloria Soto Guzman

El Paso - Gloria Soto Guzman was born on December 5, 1934. She entered Heaven's gates on May 28, 2020.

A loving mother and homemaker, Gloria was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays and football games. For many years leading up to her passing, she was very close to her churches and loved all and any type of flowers. She loved to watch news channels during her spare time. She was a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan and attended many local college football and basketball (UTEP) games as well. Gloria was an active member in two of the churches that she would volunteer over the years. Gloria not only was a homemaker but she had her own flower shop that she loved and worked so hard to provide the best service to her customers.

Preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Ismael Guzman and her son, Mike Guzman, Gloria. Gloria is survived by her son Arturo (Artie) (his wife Gloria Delgado Guzman), daughters, Grace Fajardo (her husband Frank), Elizabeth Drouillard (her husband Bob), Rosanne Enrique (her husband Javier), and Son, Steve Guzman. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, and has eight great-grandchildren.

Her niece, Irma Rodriguez gave her loving care over the many years of her life. In her final months, cousins Carmen Perez and Carla Acosta stepped in to help Gloria remain in her house. A special thanks to Ms. Mayela Campos Foster Care Home who provided assistance with her final care. The family gives them and everyone else who cared for Gloria their greatest and warmest gratitude.

My prayers for peace and comfort go out to all of you, her children. Your beautiful mother is Rejoicing and filled with Joy, and know that God greeted her as she entered her heavenly with an embrace, and a Welcome Home my Good and Faithful Servent.
She is now reunited with the love of her life, your Dad. Your mom's beauty was reflected in her beautiful floral and other arrangements, as well as her kind and selfless heart. Helping her with whatever I could in her time of need, was an honor and my pleasure. May God grant each of you peace and comfort during this difficult time. May you find peace in knowing that your mom and dad are reunited in His presence, and continue to dance, sing and love one another.

Mom, the out pouring of messages I have received give me great comfort that I can honestly say I was there till the end. Since I moved back from Seattle in 2008 it has been fun, sometimes hard, and then sad times with you and pop. But if I could upload al

Mom, I dont know where to begin. There are too many good memories that I have of you and there isnt enough time to talk about those times. Knowing now how strong you were as a young girl you really never knew much about being a teenager. You went from a young girl to a mother, and you did an outstanding job in doing so.
You were the mother to all of your children and the wife to your wonderful Husband. You took care of all of us before you took care of yourself, you were there for us in all of the good times and the bad times as well. Yet, your words of encouragement to me always kept me in a straight line, I know many times I didnt do as you wanted but in the end I always took a step back and said to myself mom is right.
You gave my two children all of your love, support and took great care of my son when he was a baby. I knew that he would be safe in your care and Dad was there to help and support you. Then my daughter came and once again you and Dad were there ready to care for her.
Its going to be easy to remember you every day because when I call out my wifes name (Gloria) it will be like talking to you too.
Now that you are with Dad, baby Mike, and the rest of your family enjoy the eternal love and peace with Jesus. When my time comes I will be ready to meet you and the rest of our family. Mom I will miss you forever, and my heart will be broken and sad and may never heal but, that is OK that is all part of life. They say you only have one mother and one father and in our Catholic Faith as one of our commandments it says Honor your Mother and Father and I did just that.

I remember my family meeting Ms. Gloria and Mr. Ismael at Art's and Gloria's house in Brunswick, GA when they came for a visit. What a great senior couple they were, the both of them. Ms. Gloria was so vibrant, energetic, funny and full of adventure. I thought she might be ready for a white water rafting trip that very day! She had great spirit and was so very friendly to me and my family, as was Mr. Ismael. I'll always remember them both. And now they are in each others arms in the presence of Jesus. The Jerry and Dolores (Lori) Jones Family send our deepest and sincerest condolences to all family and friends. Art, Gloria, Mark, Selena and all, we love and pray for you.

Mom.... I tried my best. I Thank you for loving Kelli and Stephen unconditionally. They were you and pops heart. They will cherish all the wonderful memories you gave them. Thank you for loving Javier like you did ( your Juan) for loving Kenzie ( her big Nana) and Im so happy you got to meet baby Jack❤ Thank you for all you did for me and my family. I am ever so grateful to you. Thank you for showing me the love of the church, visiting our loved ones at the cemetery, teaching me to pray the rosary. Figuring out how to tackle a project I was unsure of. Im going to miss taking you to the summer bazaars, football, basketball games, taking you to do your errands, going to craft shows, and tagging along to rosaries.
Stopping by to eat dinner with you, asking you to light a candle for me when I needed prayer. Helping you with the yard, taking you rose bushes and flowers to plant in your pots. Hanging out with you at BUNCO. Enjoying a cold beer on your porch. Just visiting anytime and laying on the couch to watch the news with you. Until we meet again mom. Give pop a big hug for me.
