Gloria J. Lester, 95

Gloria J. Lester, 95, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Colonial Courtyard in Clearfield.

She was born November 15, 1928, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Mary (Pulsoni) and John Duganier.

On June 27, 1953, she married Guy M. Lester, who preceded her in death on January 3, 2018.

Gloria was a member of Saints Cosmas and Damian Roman Catholic Church of Punxsutawney.  She had a deep faith that carried her through her life.  Gloria devoted countless hours of her time with the Rosary Altar Society and the “Goodbye” luncheon girls.

She loved her family and being a homemaker.  Gloria enjoyed making sure that her family was taken care of before herself.  She enjoyed bowling, cooking, baking, going to coffee and taking trips with her friends, and feeding her family.  She also enjoyed volunteering her time at Camp Friendship each year.

Gloria is survived by two children, Guy Lester II of Punxsutawney, and Melissa Lumadue and husband Eric of Clearfield; three grandchildren, John Lester, Alex Lester and wife Loni, and Mason Lumadue; great-granddaughter Kalista Lester; brother Rony Duganier of Cincinnati; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Guy, she was preceded in death by a son Paul A. Lester and his wife Amy (Crissman) Lester.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2024, at SSCD Church, with Monsignor Joseph Riccardo officiating.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mrs. Lester, to the Alzheimer’s Association or to SSCD Church.
