San Fernando Mission Cemeteries and Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary Obituary

Gloria Heredia Ortega, 89, of North Hills, CA passed away peacefully on November 17, 2021. Born on May 21, 1932, in North Hollywood, CA to her parents Frank and Anita Heredia.

In her teenage years she met the love of her life, Jess Ortega, who called her "Glo." They were married for 65 years before his passing on November 12, 2013, and had four daughters who loved them dearly, Connie, Stella, Debbie, and Judy.

Working at Lockheed, in Burbank, for 19 years, was a job she was proud of and took great pride in. She received several awards for her work on the P-3 and L-1011 programs, in which she was a lead person and electrical bench assembler. She was a member of the San Fernando Valley chapter of T.O.P.S and enjoyed spending time with many of the ladies, developing long lasting friendships.

Gloria was a mom and nana who loved spending time with her family. She was a very loving and beautiful person with a big heart, who was so kind and thoughtful. Her favorite singer was Vincente Fernandez. She loved Mariachi music as it was guaranteed they performed at every Ortega event.

Although, she was called home too soon we find comfort to know she is now resting in peace.

Gloria is survived by her daughters Stella Bueno, Debbie Gray, Judy Sarenana, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

She joins our Lord Jesus Christ in heaven with her husband Jess Ortega and daughter Connie Lopez.

Mom and Nana,

"God has you in his keeping, we have you in our heart. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again."

We love and miss you very much, Stella, Debbie, Judy, and grandchildren.

"A mom's hug lasts long after she lets go."
