Gloria Darlene Hanks Slapar

Mrs. Slapar was my home ec teacher through my high school years (grad 1965). She was a great teacher, inspiring my sewing ability. We had fashion shows of our creations for the community in the gym. Mrs. Slapar was our Home Economics teacher in 1954-1955. We had style shows in the evening for clothing we had made during our class. These were lots of fun and everyone would come to see what new clothes we had made. I didn't realize our class in the was the 2nd year she had taught at EHS. Years later Mom showed me a book Mrs. Slapar and Mrs. Edna Holmes had put together of each Graduating CLass from Eudora Rural High School from 1918-1991. This has been so helpful for people...

I worked with Darlene for many years. She was always kind, and a gracious lady. She was very helpful to new staff. She was the kind of co-worker that everybody wishes they had. Condolences to the family.
