Not sure what to say?

Today we honor Mrs. Goldie L. King who was a "Golden light" to all who were blessed to have her as their teacher...(at Columbus Elementary School, East Gary Indiana/Lake Station, Indiana) Decades have passed, but I still remember that she taught with love, kindness and encouraging us to do our very best. She loved playing the piano for us and that was a special time for us, now our Sweet Mrs. King is playing for the Angels in heaven...My heart feels full when I think of her! God Bless you...

How blessed East Gary/Lake station was to Have you live and work here nothing compares to you keep up the good in heaven

I, too, had Mrs. King at Columbus School. When I think back to those days, Mrs. King always lovingly comes to mind. She was the best of the best.

Emily, thank you very much for posting this lovely, heartfelt tribute to our Beloved teacher, Mrs. Goldie L. King. (Columbus Elementary School/Goldie L. King Elementary School, East Gary, Indiana) So many years have passed, but Mrs. King´s light has never dimmed in my heart! Mrs. King was pure love and kindness...she encouraged us to do our best and have fun doing it. May Your Memory Be Eternal...Mrs. King. With love, Angela

OH MY! I've thought of Goldie King so many times and couldn't locate her. So thoughtful of you Emily and "thank you"! She certainly was a wonderful, loving, understanding teacher/lady. Thinking of her warms my heart. That was so long ago and I still see her smile. God Bless all who attended Columbus School and recall loving thoughts of Goldie King. Donna (Hammond) Kvachkoff

Oh my! What a sweet memory! Indeed, she was a kind, child-centered person. From first through seventh (1949-1956, I think!) Columbus was my school, and she made her teaching a pleasant part of those years. Thanks for reminding me with your kind note. (Class of 1961, East Gary Edison High School)

I remember this wonderful Lady from my days attending Wheeler High School in the late 50´s and early 60´s. She and her Husband had Kings grocery store in Wheeler. How did she do it? I didn´t know she taught school in East Gary and then run the store. Their were times when I didn´t have enough money to pay for my food Mrs King would say Jimmy next time. Yes Goldie was her name because she had a heart of "Gold" to this day I think if her. You touched so many lives.
