POOL, Goldie Joy - Of Grand Blanc, age 72, died Tuesday, February 1,2005 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Friday, February 4, 2005 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Evangelist Donald McBride officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family. Visitation 12-2 and 5-8PM Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Pool was born in Flint, Michigan on January 28, 1933, the daughter of Anthony and Nora (Morgan) Peterson. She married Ronald L. Pool on August 8, 1953 in Flint. She loved Christian archeology and history. She was a Sunday school teacher for children and adults and loved reading Christian books and was a youth group leader in the past. Mrs. Pool loved to paint and was very much into family traditions and holiday celebrations. She enjoyed dancing, camping and spending time with her family. Surviving are husband, Ronald of Grand Blanc; daughters, Allison Pool of Ravenna, Michigan and Carla Burns of Burton; 2 grandchildren, Hillary Pool and Brent Burns; sister, Vivian and husband Joe Spaleny of Flushing; brother, Lyle and wife Lily of Ohio; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Opal Rose.
