I owe so much to Woody and his values. He taught so many of us how to love and treat our fellow man.

Woody and Hiram House provided camp counselors like myself with a wonderful, life altering experience that I tell people about to this day. I like to think we became more responsible, caring adults during that time, and I know I made lifelong friends. Thanks, Woody, and thank you Winnie for setting him on the road to college and to all of us.

Many Clevelanders will miss this wonderful man. He touched thousands of lives through the Cleveland Public Schools' School Camping Program. On a personal level, he gave me my start in the field of Education, he became my dear friend, and his family became my family. I am stunned by his passing. He was unique.

I will always remember with heartfelt warmth the time we spent combing the Normandy coast. We walked through war cemeteries, WWII museums, Nazi bunkers and even Norman castles and artifacts. You were a great father-in-law and a good friend. You will be sorely missed.
