Sincerest condolences to the family. Gordon was gentle, and kind, and he will always hold a special place in my heart. I used to take the bus to the Pacific Biological Station as a student in Fisheries & Aquaculture. My days back then always started with a lovely 'good morning' from my bus riding companion, Gordon. What a wonderful sense of humour he had. It was a privilege to know him.

What a lovely man Gordon was, brilliant, witty, and so kind-hearted. He kept his many talents to himself but they always shone through. And he made my cousin Marg so very happy. Many condolences to the family. What great memories you will have of this devoted couple.

Just last month I was telling a story about how "my uncle the fish doctor" was such an inspiration, instilling in me a love and respect for the natural world, especially along his beloved west coast of Canada. I consider Gordon a friend, a man easy to like, eager to listen and a kind soul who was willing to share and help. I can only imagine how many people he touched and befriended in his long life. I am sure he is resting easy now and pleased at how he lived his life.
