Not sure what to say?

Dear Barbara
I am so sorry to hear that Gordon has passed away. I found out through an email from Helen Conachan. Helen said she has tried contacting you through your email address and it bounced.

Gordon at FM Archaeology Camp

Dear Barbara & Family, Gordon touched the lives of hundreds of FM students who will forever remember his generosity, expertise and good cheer. He will be sorely missed. Our hearts go out to you. Diana Green, FM Archaeology Club

Dear Barbara and Family,
We were greatly saddened to hear of Gordon's passing. I had so enjoyed seeing you both at the Archaeology Conference in April (2010) and catching up on your news. I have so many great memories of Gordon and you and Winnie too, especially in Vermont in that heat!! Between the two of you, you made the digs and Lab work not just wonderful learning experiences but loads of fun! Gordon will be sorely missed! Know that Vinnie and I are thinking of you and our...

Dear Barbara and Family,
I was so saddened to hear of Gordon's passing. I first met him in the 1970s when I was a very "green" archaeologist at the Public Archaeology Facility at Binghatmon University. I was overwhelmed by his patience and kindness as well as his unmatched wealth of information on archaeology. His caricature signature (with pipe!) will stay with me always.

Gordie was a good friend for many years and, although we had not seen each other for many years I thought of him many times. Every time I levelled a tripod, for example, "The bubble always moves in the direction of your left thumb." I think I could still carry out an alidade/plane table survey thanks to Gordie's teaching. He was helpful to this young student in more ways that I can ever say and I know he was equally helpful to dozens, perhaps...

DeAngelo Family

I had the privilege to work with Gordon on several occasions. He was always very generous with his time and I enjoyed his humor and stories a great deal. He will be missed.

Barbara & Family,

We are sorry to hear of Gordon's passing. He was a wonderful man who contributed much to his community. He will be missed.

Your friends at the Sullivan Free Library

I met Gordon about 4 years ago as an archaeology graduate student trying to get my dissertation research started. It never would have gotten off the ground without Gordon's help, and I can never thank him enough for that.

Gordon was one of the friendliest and most genuine people I have ever met. He sought me out at meetings and was always interested not just in my work but how everything else in my life was going as well. I wish I had met him sooner.

I am deeply sorry...
