Read MoreGordon and "Johnie" are permanent fixtures in the hearts and minds of the Crockrett family. Often I think of the golf trips and rounds we enjoyed with the Dowerys and Washingtons. We felt like they were family as well as friends. We miss you Gordon. We love you and pray for you on your memorial day.

Gordon was my friend from the moment that we met at Harlem Hospital in 1984. Although we only saw each other a few times over the years that followed, we visited by phone occasionally and always and kept up through mutual friends.
Gordon was one of the most charitable, insightful and likable individuals that I have know. He was at all times a gentleman and, by example, demonstrated the benefits of being mannerly and respectful to all.
