Dear Gretchen and Greg and families, This is Aileen, Fred and Peggy Barker's daughter. I'm so very sorry to hear the loss of your dad, my heart goes out to you all. I have such fond memories of your dad from as long back as I can remember (both your parents really) and I know mom and dad were really fortunate to have such close friends for the majority of their lives. Gordie, as we called him, was my faculty advisor at UCR from 1961-65 and very influential in maturing a young man under his academic care. My deepest condolances for the loss of a wounderfull man that I have never forgotten and will never forget. Had I known of his transition I would have been at his memorial.

We visited Uncle Gordie and Aunt Ginny in Texas twice in 2013, and will treasure the memories of our times with them forever. Uncle Gordie was like a father to Adam and his brother Tony starting from when they were youngsters. He included them on so many memorable family trips and gatherings, and mentored them throughout life as they grew up to become men and fathers.
