My belated comments echo what Chris wrote earlier. Whenever I saw Gordon I always remember his big smile like the one in the photo. He always seemed to have that inner joy that radiated out in a smile. It seems that must have been a gift to his family. I see the same smile coming through Melanie so often in her smiles and laughter and poetry. Hardship and struggles step aside for that force.

Read your father's wonderful obituary in Sunday's Oregonian. He sounds like a terrific guy. There hasn't been square dancing at the Aloha Grange for this past year because of Covid19 but there will be square dances again there as soon as its permitted. Pleased to know that we are a small part of your family's happy memories.

I will miss his smile, his sense of humor, his joy for life, and his devotion to his family. He represents the best of what people can aspire to. I only wish I had known him longer and better.

What a gentleman and caring person he was! We had several wonderful visits with him and Marsha when we lived in Oregon.
