Gordon Hamilton

Gordon did not know me, a wannabe announcer , and a graduate of
LHS Class '50...but I certainly knew who he was as I listened to him
every day on WCAP. I finally realized my dream and began my 50+
years broadcasting career in 1958, after graduating from Emerson
College. I'm still in the profession via NPR in Baltimore, hosting a

To the Hamilton and Kelleher families, I'd like to extend my deepest sympathies. I have warm memories of Gordon from the years when Donna and I were Sacred Heart School students and best friends. No one can forget his "velvet" voice on the radio, and anyone who knew him will remember his handsome face, wonderful personality and his endless stories. To Gordon's Relatives -- In 1954 Gordon was in our wedding party. He was a very close friend from then on. He shared many funny stories with us and made us laugh out loud. He was so proud of his radio affiliation. Every Sunday we listened to his "Polish Hour." We pray now that he is enjoying his family in heaven. Marcia Kelleher

My prayers are with Gordon. I am happy that he is free of his Parkinson's now. We Kelleher kids have known Gordon our entire lives. He was always so cheerful and happy to see us when he came visiting. We will remember how much he loved the "old" music - sitting with my dad and mom listening and enjoying records. Also, all the Patriots games he went to with my dad, travelling by bus, dressed for the freezing cold. Then if they were watching games from their homes, the phone would ring...
