Not sure what to say?

When I was a lad growing up in Plymouth, Michigan, Mr. Hill and his family moved in not too far from my home. Matthew and I soon became fast friends, and my younger brother and Martin were mates, too. I remember many fun times with 2-on-2 soccer games in my backyard. One summer, Mr. Hill coached our little league soccer team, and we went all the way to the championship game. It was a great experience for me that I have never forgotten. I have many other fond memories of being in his...

I am watching a re-run of a1974 game between Arsenal and QPR, refereed by Gordon in his usual pragmatic but no nonsense way. He spoke to players respectfully and they responded in kind. We will not see his like again. RIP Gordon.

he was my idol as a ref back in the late 60s when l was just a lad setting out as a ref
l modeled myself on him

Gordon was a special man . So inspiring and friendly . I only knew him for a few years but will always remember him fondly . His cheeky smile and great sense of humour. He signed his book for my uncle in London as a fellow football fan . My uncle remembers him as a great referee . RIP Gordon

We would like to pay our respects and thank Gordon and Veronica for the wonderful work they have done to help members of Budding Friends in Exeter with their art projects. He will be sadly missed, and were sorry we are unable to formally pay our respects on 29 April, as we will be away. With fond memories and grateful thanks, Barrie and Sara Carless

Sincere condolences to all the family. Gordon will be remembered as a top class, approachable referee and a great character

Gordon became a great friend during the time we knew him. It was always a pleasure to call on Gordon and Veronica in their lovely house, and catch up with Gordons latest artwork; and to welcome him to ours, where he enjoyed the view down the garden.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. I did enjoy knowing him .

Mr. Hill was my soccer coach in the early 1980s in Clearwater, Florida. Absolutely the best coach Id ever played for. Great teacher, and always a gentleman. His sons were on that great Clearwater Chargers team as well, and those are some awesome memories that we still talk about To this day, as I Remain friends with some of the guys on that team. Condolences to the Hill family. Gino Bertoni
