Not sure what to say?

Our Great Hero.

Jean and Ken Piazza want to extend our sincere condolences to the Holmquist family. I lived two doors from "Gaga" and Gloria on Elgin Ave. for many years, my little league baseball coach at Belmont.A fun guy!

Uncle Gordon and Aunt Gloria represented kindness in my childhood, I will have the memory of watching Uncle Gordon go through the back gate @ 1105 Elgin Av to get to work..happy times. May God comfort Aunt Gloria , Judy and her family now and always.

SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO FAMILY FOR A SPECIAL MAN. THE "J", LITTLE LEAGUE, WIT & ALLAROUND GOOD GUY. dAVE HENNESSEY JR.

My Mother (Eleanor) was the Holmquist's next door neighbor on Henderson Ave. I never knew the man other than Gaga. There were many a time when we would go to my Grandma Mollie's house, we would run into Gaga visiting his parents. My Dad took great joy in trading Railroad Stories with him. My Dad worked for the Rock Island and would see him when he would switch at the J. My Parents and Grandma would have great stories about the boys growing up. Mr. Holmquist came to both my parents...

I remember a childhood of fun due to Gordon Holmquist. He fondly called me "Chicken" as I invited myself to a chicken dinner at his house on many nights. I remember going on vacation with Gordon, Gloria and Judy. Many a baseball game was played in the field behind our house with Mr. Holmquist coaching the neighborhood boys. Thank you so much Gordon for happy memories of getting squirted with your garden hose on a hot summer day! You will be remembered in my prayers. May God look over...

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to Gordon's family.

REST IN PEACE GORDY, YOU EARNED IT
