During the course of my life, my father shared with me several accounts of his experiences in Europe during World War II with the Army Corps Of Engineers, but the best one was one he told to me only a couple of years ago. After the Surrender, Dad’s commanding officer was assigned to inspect some of Germany’s underground munitions plants. The main level of one plant was known to the Allied command, but Dad and his CO (probably a colonel—Dad referred to him as the “Old Man”) discovered yet...

I want to say I will always love and miss you dad.You gave me a good life you and mom did. You accepted me no matter what I did. You always took me fishing and many other things we all enjoyed. Although you are gone physically, you will always be in my heart. I LOVE YA DAD! REST IN PEACE OLD SARGE!!!!!!!
