Dr. Gordon Edward Odegaard

John, Stefanie, and Thomas Walter send their deepest condolences to the Odegaard family. My father worked with Dr. Odegaard at MVHS for 30-ish years, and we greatly enjoyed seeing the Drs. Odegaard at Johns 90th birthday party Last October.

I had Dr. Odegaard in 1993/94 for as many sciences as I could take from him. A great teacher with a fun yet serious sense of humor. A very smart man and one that i enjoyed learning from.

I took Biology from Dr. Odegaard in the late1960's, when he just arrived at MVHS. He was the one who got me interested in biology. A great teacher and a good Norwegian! Mike Bjorn MVHS 1970

Dr. Odegaard was the biology teacher at Mt Vernon High School, and I had the honor of being one of his students (First period/1987). He was in a league of his own, from knowledge, handling classroom dynamics and overall professionalism. He was the right guy for this class, was well liked and respected by his students. 10Jan26. My heartfelt condolences to Joanne & Kristin for the loss of your beloved husband & father. Gordon was a colleague at MVHS who always had a wise view of our meetings. He possessed a good sense of humor at our MVHS Retirees gatherings which he attended regularly. He scoffed at injuries, especially the recent one when a mailbox hit his bike. He entrusted me with his daughter in French -- everyday was a pleasure to teach, thanks to Kristin in the class. May he rest in peace after...

Dr. Odegaard was one of my favorite teachers at MVHS. His passion for science made his biology class both engaging and challenging. My condolences to his family.
