Not sure what to say?

I knew Gordon for about 20 years in DeKalb. He was a great friend who enjoyed a cup of coffee together. Me and my wife attended a NIU classical concert together with him and he was ways there to lend an ear for what I had to say, as a friend. I miss him greatly, and will always appreciate the good conversations we had together. Rest well, Gordon, and may his memory be eternal. I'll see you again sometime in the near future, my friend. Thanks for the friendship.

My favorite uncle..... loved him dearly. Always could talk about anything. He was a wonderful listener.

Gordon was a good friend and colleague My life is so much richer as a result. This man had such a positive influence on family and friends Thank you Gordon and for all the memories we made together Earl

My sincere condolences to your family! Your dad was in the library at NIU each Sunday when I was an NIU student! He represented stability to me, during my student years & I got to know him more recently through our retired teacher´s luncheons! Wonderful gentleman!!!

Freyja, I'm so sorry that I didn't know that you lost your Mom not long ago. Your Dad was such a good friend to me. Their musical talents were a true gift to everyone. They will be missed. God's blessings to all who loved them. Gayle Dannenberg

Gordon was a man of faith and integrity, a cousin who counted personal relationships with family and friends to be his riches. May his memory bring smiles and joy to all he knew and his spirit live on in his grandchildren and future generations.

UG,

Thanks for the memories...the food...the fun...the family...the handcrafts...the 4th of July's...

My sincere sympathies on the loss of your father and grandfather/great-grandfather whom I knew through working at Founders Library at N.I.U. I also ran into him multiple times at the YMCA in the pool. Gordon was always so pleasant and kind. I was amazed by the obituary in the paper and to read of all his interests and passions. It was especially interesting to read about the Danebod Folk School.
May wonderful memories sustain you during this time of your grief from the loss of Virginia...

Gordon was one of the best supervisors I had while at NIU. He was a great boss and friend. He will be missed.
