Not sure what to say?

As I read over Dr. Sauer's obituary I am amazed at his many accolades in Dermatology, his extensive professional service to others, particularly prisoners and underserved persons, and of course his love of John Gould. Dr. Sauer managed an important skin issue for me as a child, and provided a role model for me in Dermatology. His "Manual of Skin Diseases" contains so many useful pearls, even though it was written long ago. To Beth, Meg, Amy, and Gordon Jr., I share my many fond and...

I was greatly saddened to learn of Gordon's death earlier today. He was a wonderfully kind and gentle man who was a stong role model to me growing up and a true friend and colleague afterward. He strongly influenced my decision to become a dermatologist. Like Gordon, I am a member of the American Dermatological Association and I have taken the liberty of passing the sad news of his passing along to the Association.

I look forward to the opportunity to get in touch with Meg,...

To the family of Dr. Sauer, (especially his daughter Amy)
Amy, you may not remember me but we went to school together when we were quite young. I remember being at your home. Your father was very kind. I am so sorry about your loss. I would love to hear from you if you get a chance.
My deepest sympathy to your and your family.

Also my brother Dave went to school with your husband I beleive.

Wanted to express my sympathy on the loss of your father, Meg. He was my doctor years ago and I thought the world of him. So sorry for your loss.

I always enjoyed Gordon's company as a golf partner, and his expertise as a fine dermatologist. I used his textbook all through my professional career, and found it to be the most readable and helpful of all such books. I will miss him!

Dr. Sauer was such a wonderful doctor and person. My daughter and I always looked forward to our appointments/visits with him. We have missed him and that awesome SR Lotion for the last year. Our condolences to his family.

I was saddened to hear of Dr. Sauer's passing. He had such a BIG heart. We need more like him. I always knew whatever my problem, he would fix it.

I am saddened to hear of Gordon,s passing. I had the pleasure of working with him through referrals over many years. I was an associate of Rick Ramos and both he and I respected Gordon's work very highly and we relied on him for his skill in treating severe cases of dermatological conditions. My sympathy to the family.

What a rich, full life was led by this wonderful doctor. He was the best. most caring, compassionate, sympathetic dermatologist I ever had the pleasure of knowing. I was not aware that he had married my old Neosho neighbor...such a small world this is! My sympathies to all of his family on the loss of one so dear. Susan (Schaumburg) Ainsworth
