Not sure what to say?

Dr. Summers saved my life. I´m honored to have known him. He was a kind and truly caring person. I was so fortunate to have him as my surgeon when I had thyroid cancer.

Gordie was one of the finest people I have ever known. Rarely do you find someone as caring for others as Gordie. I only knew him for about 15 years but he touched my life in so many ways. He worked tirelessly to improve our medical community and the patients he served. I think about Gordie often and still have trouble believeing we have lost one of the giants. We all pass but we all do not leave giant impressions in the lives of others. He certainly was one of those giants

My father was a first cousin of Gordon, as their mothers were sisters. As an adult, I finally began to appreciate the Halfway side of our family and made three trips in the last few years. Our last trip from California was two years ago and what a treat to have Gordon drive us all over Pine Valley to revisit family sites and to reacquaint ourselves with what my father called "Shangri-la." What a gentleman Gordon was and how he loved his heritage (that he shared with my father) as a native of...

I had the privilege of working with Gordie during hay season
for a few days at his parent's ranch. As a friend and a classmate
he was the best. My condolences to his family.

Gordon was a great ENT physician and a wonderful man. As a thoracic surgeon, I was privileged to be able to work with Gordon doing surgery on complex upper airway tumors and other medical problems. He has been sorely missed from the medical community since his retirement from practice in Portland several years ago. He truly was outstanding. My wife, Mary Ann, and I send his family our sincerest sympathy and best regards.

It was October 8, 2014 when I met Gordon in Halfway, Or on our way to deer hunting on Russell Mtn. I remember coming into a feed store while getting gas and asked if they sold blocks of deer food. He asked why would anyone pay to feed deer when the white tails were dinning on farmer's crops nearly every chance they could. There was something about him I just liked from the first moment and
I regretted that we did not ask if we could have hunted near his property and get to know him...

The youngest member of our dental school class had the biggest appetite for a professional education. After medical school, Gordon became the best in his medical field...Portland's most competent ENT physician.
The Dental School Class of 1961 will miss Gordon but not forget him.

One of my closest friends and confidents while we were at OHSU. I followed his outstanding career over the years although I lived in CA and continued to admire him anonymously from afar. My condolences to the family. Dr. Charles Bonnett

Very sorry to hear this sad news.
