Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home - Moose Lake Obituary

Gordon Harvey Nyenhuis, born April 1, 1967, died unexpectedly at home on December 18, 2021.  Gordy lived most of his life in Minneapolis and Duluth.  Gordy was a volunteer firefighter, a handyman, a tile guy, and a jack of all trades.  He loved playing pool, fishing, gardening and going for walks.  But most of all, he loved being a dad.  Gordy made snow mansions, ice-skating rinks, held “Camp Nyenhuis” at the farm for the girls and their friends, and was a soccer coach.  His pride and joy was his daughters.

Gordy is preceded in death by his father, Glenn Nyenhuis.

He is survived by his daughters: Kayla and Lauren Nyenhuis; his mother: Yvonne Nyenhuis; his brothers: Eric (Grace) and Troy (Deb) Nyenhuis; special friends: Elliot Woodward and Greg Hansen; and many other friends and family.

A Celebration of Life for Gordy will be held on May 21, 2022 in the Twin Cities.  Family and Friends may leave condolences on the guestbook here on the website or cards may be mailed to: The Family of Gordy Nyenhuis, C/O Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, PO Box 338, Moose Lake, MN 55767.

Not sure what to say?

Truly sorry to hear about Gordy. I knew him from our WESAC summer soccer league days...You all know who you are. A great cast of characters! We also worked together at the Uptown Davannis back in the day. Alot of really good memories. Also one of the best damn goalies I've ever seen/played with! Again, my condolences to Gordy's family & friends. He was one of the good guys.

I am so sorry! Sending love and prayers to Gordy's family and friends. A good man with a great sense of humor and beautiful smile!

Grove of 100 Trees

Gordy was a good dude!
I'm sad and sorry for your loss.

Gordy,
No matter what it is with God, he is a gracious and merciful God. His way is through love, in which we all are. It is truly a Love Supreme. I hope to see you again someday. Perhaps then we can have that Wrestling match we never had. I can still shoot a pretty mean double. Be well my friend in your new life.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Very sad news losing an old friend.

Darrin & Eydie Waletzki

I worked with Gordy at Relf Eyecare for a while. He was a hard worker and a very nice guy. I remember him running around the office looking for charts and what not. He was a character for sure. He will be missed by many. Thoughts and prayers to his daughters and the whole family. So sorry for your loss.
