BOLLINGER, Grace Elizabeth, born December 25, 1916, went home to be with God at the age of 94 on May 12, 2011. Betty, as she was known by many, was born and raised in King George County, Virginia. As a young adult, moved to Washington, D.C., where she met her husband, James L. Bollinger. They started a family and purchased a home in Northern Va. She raised four children and remained in Northern Va. until 1999, when she moved to Richmond, Va. to live with her daughter. Betty is survived by her brother, George Vernon Ferrell; four children, Patricia Thomas, Pamela Mellick, Barbara Parker and James Edward Bollinger. She was also blessed to have 12 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was the matriarch of her family, always had a smile to share and will be greatly missed. The funeral will be held May 16, 2011 at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Rd., Fairfax, Va. The viewing will be held at noon with a service following at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
