Not sure what to say?

What a legacy and awesome servant of God! She lived and loved as most of us could only dream about. Heaven has received one the greatest in the Kingdom. God comfort and heal this family she left on this earth who will join their beloved Grace when God takes them home.

Mrs. Brandenburg was my beloved high school English teacher. She was one of my favorites. We did many interesting things in senior English, but one of the most memorable was having to memorize the first several lines of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales in Old English. Many times in my own teaching career have I used this knowledge to show my students how languages change over the years. I will always remember Mrs. Brandenburg for the lessons she taught.

Gayle, Your mom did have a wonderful life and married into a special family. I know you knew this day would come, as I did with my mom when she died. It took about two years for me to stop trying to pull in her driveway on my way home.. I still miss her, but now I smile when those family thought come. to me.
I'm at our ranch now, but will be there on Tuesday.
Always,

"Gracie" as my mom called her, was my mom's best friend as they were growing up in North Texas. Since my mom died in 1998, I have always called "Aunt Grace" on my mom's birthday in September.

They were great friends and I still have a framed photo of the two of them from the 1940's in their "Sunday Best" (including hats) as they were shopping in downtown Dallas.

I will miss my phone conversations with "Aunt Grace".
