Spinelli - Ricciuti Funeral Home - Ansonia Obituary

OXFORD: Grace E. “Pinky” (Williams) Cayer, age 71, entered eternal rest on November 13, 2024, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, with her loving family by her side.  She was the beloved wife of thirty-eight years to Bernard Cayer.

Grace was born in Milford on March 12, 1953, daughter of the late Norman and Grace Spice Williams. A resident of Oxford, Grace was employed for forty-three years as a nurse at Bridgeport Hospital, with most of her career spent in the NICU, until her retirement. A proud veteran, Grace honorably served her country in the United States Navy. Grace was a lover of the simple things in life - a cup of tea with a book in her hand, a bird landing on one of her bird feeders or bird houses, a warm breeze on a beach, and her garden of flowers blooming each spring. She was often behind the camera, capturing the candid moments of every family event, or finding the beauty in nature shots. She had an eye for capturing special moments, and spent much of her time turning the photos into scrapbooks, so the memories could live on forever. She also loved to travel and make memories. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her husband Bernie, Grace leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Shawn Cayer (Allison) of Quincy, MA, Keith Cayer (Heidi) of Walnut Creek, CA and Mark Cayer of Oxford, daughter, Amy Clagg (Nolan) of St. Peterburg, FL, brothers, Richard Williams of West Haven, Robert Williams (Kathleen) of Woodbridge and Teddy Williams (Marilyn) of West Virginia, sister, Dawn Ryan of NC, grandchildren, Dyane Cayer, Shawn Ryan Cayer, Patrick Cayer, Emmi Cayer, Lydia Cayer, Andrew Cayer, Matthew Cayer, Ryan Kelson and Charlie Kelson along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, David and James Williams, sister, Joan Williams and brother-in-law, William Ryan.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Sunday November 17, 2024 from 2:00-5:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Monday morning, all are invited to attend her funeral service by meeting directly at 11:00 am at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, 117 Mountain Road, Seymour with Deacon Victor Lembo officiating. United States Navy military honors will be accorded. To sign Grace’s guestbook or share a memory, please visit, www.spinelliricciutifh.com.
