Not sure what to say?

Sandi,
I am SO sorry! I had no idea, and actually was trying to call Grace to say hello. In spite of the distance and years apart, we still kept in touch. I loved your mom very much, and have wonderful memories of growing up next door. I guess mom and Grace are back together now, seeing what kind of trouble they can stir up!
Love to you, Sandi!

All our thoughts and prayers from my family to yours in these difficult times

So sad to hear about Grace. Senator Grace Drake was a tireless advocate for public good even at the age of 94! She helped the Ohio Society for Respiratory Care pass a licensure law for Respiratory Therapist's in 1988 that set educational, competency and ethical standards of care, to protect public safety. I had the privilege of talking with Senator Drake in November of 2019 to thank her for her support and dedication. My sincere sympathy to family and friends as we have lost a true mentor who...

The Ohio Society for Respiratory Care sends its sincere condolences to Senator Drake's family. Grace sponsored our Respiratory Care licensing bill in the late 1980's to make sure those with breathing problems had access to safe, professional care in Ohio. She was a brilliant, respected and caring legislator who was always the "voice of reason" in the Senate and beyond. It was a privilege to know her and watch her in action. She was a great mentor to so many of us over the years.

Dear Sandra,

I had the honor of meeting your mother under very stressful circumstances. Your father was a patient at St. Luke's Hospital and I was one of the nurses that took care of him. Senator Drake was very gracious, classy and very kind to all of us. I always had fond memories of her and of course, you.

My sincerest condolences and prayers to you and your family.

Sincerely, Maryann Baker ( Demci) RN-BSN

I met Grace while I attended Cleveland State after my service in the Marines. She would ask me if I had time for a conversation each time I saw her and would share many stories and experiences with me. I credit her with introducing me to several contacts who provided great guidance and mentorship. Grace you will be missed!

My family and I have known, loved and admired Grace for many years. She was our neighbor and friend, a very special lady, one of a kind. We will miss her. Our condolences to her family.

Grace will be deeply missed by all those she touched. Grace was a devoted friend to me personally, and as co-guardian, with me, of a special needs woman who lives in Connecticut. She was my rock and sounding board for over 30 years about many difficult decisions. She had a heart as big as the whole universe. She would give you the shirt off her back. Grace's passing will leave a huge hole in many, many lives. My heart is very heavy, and I will miss her very much. My thoughts and prayers...

I knew Grace from my time at Cleveland State. She was supportive kind and thoughtful, and had a contagious laugh. She also didn't pull any punches...she told you what she thought. I will miss her.
