Hi Mom,
How come I didn't tell you more often how strong and funny you are? Maybe in another time dimension I will.

Grace Marie Moody
Grace Marie Moody December 28, 1920 - December 30, 2011 Mrs. Grace Moody Smith was born December 28, 1920 in Delta, Texas to Thaddeus and Flora Caldwell Moody. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 30, 2011. Grace Marie Moody loved education! Beginning with the first grade, she could remember every teacher she had ever had. The family lived in the country far from the schools and she would miss during bad weather. When she was high school age, she was ill for almost an entire school year. She fell behind and had to keep going to high school until she was almost twenty years old. But she earned her diploma in a place and time where it was common for girls to quit school to marry. She was an avid reader and collector of books, especially history, all her adult life. Her father Thaddeus Moody, her beloved mother Flora Caldwell Moody, her sister Maggie Moody Layer, her brother James Thaddeus Moody, her grandson Christopher Kyle Pendley and her husband of almost 30 years, William Smith, precede Mrs. Smith in death. She is survived by her children Ramona Gould, William, Bernadette, Barbara, Marsha, Noel and Pamela Mingus. Many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren will dearly miss her. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Ratnayaki, NP Christine and the wonderful nursing staff at Memorial Hospital for their professionalism, compassion and support during this very difficult time. www.bakersfield.com/obits
