Bruce,Don,and Co., you all know your Mom was like my 2nd mother when we were growing up, I always looked up to her...her determination and inner strength, mixed with her love of the arts was, well, awesome. I was even more amazed to find out her accomplishments as you two recently recollected her professional endeavors. For instance I never knew she had 2 doctorate degrees, nor did I know that she was the first woman in NC to sit on the governor's cabinet. She was never ostentatious, so...

My thoughts and prayers are with you Don and Bruce. I remember your mom as being such a nice lady.

I remember Mrs. Rohrer as my kindergarten teacher at First Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem in 1962. She got me ready for first grade and we had a good time as well. I followed her in the political scene as i got older. My thoughts and prayers are with all the Family at this time.

Family - I had the privilege of knowing Grace many, many years ago in Winston-Salem. My family consisting of Mother, Father, and Brother, were recent immigrants to the US and we landed in Winston-Salem having been sponsored by the Methodist Church. Grace opened her home and her care to all of us and we stayed with her for several days, if I remember correctly - it was a long time ago. As we all aged, we stayed in touch for a while as well as with Grace's parents but I eventually lost...

She was a wonderful mother, aunt and friend. Words cannot justify the goodness she shared with so many. She touched so many lives, including my own. Thank you for sharing your mom with us. May God comfort you during this sad time.
