Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions - Hampton Obituary

Grace Elizabeth Thomas, 68, passed away on January 8th, 2022. Born in Wicomico, VA, she has been a resident of Hampton Roads since 1972. She was a member of Carrollton Holiness Church, in Carrollton, VA.
Grace was preceded in death by her son, Richard Michael Thomas; her parents Robert C. Quail Sr., and Mary E. Barton Quail. She is survived by her husband, Richard N. Thomas; sons, David N. Thomas (Shannon) and Derek A. Thomas (Amber Marie); grandchildren, Isaac, Ana, Liam, Charlette, Lillian, Carolyn, Ezra, and Amelia; brothers, Robert C. Quail Jr., William C. Quail, and Timothy W. Quail; and many
beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Grace was greatly loved by all of her family, and as the matriarch, she was the queen of their hearts. Her love was deeply rooted in her family and the love she had for her family was unmatched. Her grandchildren, in particular, were her whole heart. She loved her family's history and heritage. She was truly a perfect example of love, kindness, selflessness, patience, and humbleness. Grace was the kind of woman that made you feel hopeful and kept you attaining a better version of yourself. She was a warm place to go whenever you needed comfort. Her heart of gold was one of a kind and will shine on for generations.
Grace was an example of the love of Jesus Christ in everything she did. She was sincere and devoted in her care of others whether she was working in retail, homeschooling her boys, serving at church, helping meet a need, finding the perfect gift, caring for young and old, and praying always for every person in her life. She never met a stranger and her love connected countless people. She loved music and could often be heard singing, blessing everyone around with her voice. Her laughter could bring a smile in even the darkest of times, the twinkle in her eyes could light up any room, and her mischievous antics turned even the most mundane moments into happy memories. Gracie, as she was often called, cultivated joy in the hearts of everyone around her, seeing the good in them and working to bring it to full bloom. She was an answer to prayer for many and a praying mother to all.
Grace’s life will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Healing Waters Worship Center, 12172 Smiths Neck Rd, in Carrollton, by Rev. Allen Jeffers. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Carrollton Holiness Church. Arrangements are by Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton, VA, 727-825-8070.
