Not sure what to say?

I feel gratitude for having known Graham. He was a great scholar and an efficient organizer. We met and worked together in 'Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas'. This Society benefitted much from his outstanding contributions. Graham's integrity and his warm personality impressed me and inspired me. My condolences to Esther and the whole family.

I was very sad to hear of Graham Stanton's passing. He was the external examiner of my PhD thesis on Matthew's Gospel and I talked with him subsequently at many conferences around the world. Alongside his formidable scholarship he was a warm and caring man. He was hugely encouraging to me, both academically and personally, and I will miss him greatly.

I am so sorry to hear Graham passed away. I remember with gratitude the presentation of our CRINT volume in Utrecht, in September 2006, where he participated with his wife and gave one of his splendid talks. My condolences to Mrs. Stanton.

Prof Stanton was one of the first academics i met when I joined the staff of the Divinity Faculty Library in 2003: we had an affinity, as I am also from New Zealand: I kept him supplied with minties, or an occasional chocolate fish and we enjoyed comparing the progress of our kowhai trees, flourishing in a strange land. I miss him very much. Jillian Wilkinson

Graham Stanton was particularly generous to me with his time and very helpful advice during a visit to Macquarie University. He will be missed.

Graham's speech at the dinner for the 500th year celebration of The Lady Margaret Chair

We always appreciated Graham's great kindness and humility during our years in Cambridge. Charlotte had the honor of serving as his secretary for six months during the 500th anniversary celebration of The Lady Margaret Chair. His personal warmth will not be forgotten!

Graham's life - as with his scholarship - was marked by generosity, wisdom, and faith. His legacy will live on and inspire many future generations of New Testament students. His loss will leave a gap as he must have had so much more to give. I don't believe I ever met any of his family, but my prayers are with them as I write this.

My deepest condolences to the Stanton family. Graham was a senior colleague, who spoke in my classes and whose books I have used as textbooks for 15 years. Graham was not only a brilliant scholar but a godly man whose encouraging spirit, humility and integrity will be dearly missed.
