Grant was born in Rexburg and raised in Rigby, ID in a family of enough kids to contain a football team, a basketball team, a baseball team, and a golf team without using the same person twice. As an only child of 26 kids he was the one everybody liked. He enjoyed a good inside joke and would be upset to learn of his time spent on the roof and recent conversion to the Democrat Party.
Grant lived every aspect of his life with intensity. He was an accomplished welder and an awarded MMA fighter. The honor and distinction of which he served in the military was enough to ensure that none of his much older and larger brothers..... (and sister) would ever mess with him. He was a large man of diminutive stature and as a devout antagonist would often quote from Genesis 52:3. Grant was a loving and doting father to two beautiful girls who became his world; "Sariah's Laugh and Annabelle's could cure cancer" he often said. Grant was a combat veteran of OEF and OIF and as a sergeant in the Army, served with pride. He was a brother to everyone; the uncle with the largest box of fireworks, and most of all, he was a friend.
Grant was preceded in death by his mother Jean Miskin Christensen Hunsaker Gifford (2002); father Orland M. Hunsaker (1991); sister, Jenai Axelson (2012); brother Logan Christensen (1975); brother, K'dell Christensen (1976); brother, Troy Hunsaker(1994).
Grant is survived in life by his wife Apryl Hunsaker; daughters Sariah Hunsaker and Annabelle Hunsaker; father Jessie Gifford; brothers Gerald Hunsaker, Gregory Hunsaker, Clifford Hunsaker, Michael Hunsaker, Duane Christensen, Shaun Gifford, Dallas Christensen, Corey Gifford, Valden Christensen, Richard Gifford, Forrest Christensen, Jeffery Gifford, Flint Christensen, Tom Gifford, and Adam Christensen; sisters Shleen Monson, Tammy Gifford, Jennifer Gifford, Lori Lundgren, Laurissa Rasmussen, Lezhai Gulbransen; and the love and respected Nygard Family and his military brothers and sisters. A complete list of spouses is available upon request.
Grant's entire family wishes to thank everyone for the love and support that has been given and asks for gracious donations in lieu of flowers.
Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing at the Garfield LDS chapel (71 N 3700 E, Rigby ID) Saturday August 31st from 9am to 10:30am followed by a funeral service at 11am. Friends and family are invited to write or record memories that will be collected for his little girls.

I was devastated to find out Grant was the person killed in that accident. I had the pleasure of meeting him when he first started dating my neighbor, Apryl. He helped me out a lot; like a brother would. My daughter babysat a few times after they moved, so we kept in touch a little, but missed having them around. I was just getting used to their separation, knowing we probably wouldn't be able to see Grant as often, and hoping he would stay in the area. He was a good man, and we will miss him.
