Guest Book

Not sure what to say?

I just found this guest book for Greer. My wife and I met him when we lived in Texas in the 70's. Greer had purchased a large collection of old cameras and literature. We had heard about the collection in the 60's (but could not afford it as a student). A stipulation for the sale was to keep the collection together and share. He did just that .... we spent a wonderful day in his skylight museum, learned about his activities with schools, and saw his great portraiture. We also shared...

The most wonderful person I have ever met, humorous, articulate and a very generous person.
My first meeting with him and Miss Mary was 2 days after arrived in Little Rock and from that day we became very good friends. A person whom I wish I could have know a lot earlier in my life and I'm sure I would have been a much person for that.
May your and Miss Mary's souls rest in peace and One day I will look for you in the photographers heaven.

I hope I'm not too late to pass on my condolences to Cherie, Brett and Skip and to say What a wonderful person Greer was ( as was dear Miss Mary)
When I first met both of them It began a most wonderful relationship and I so deeply regret not keeping it going.
They were both so loving and trusting and always had an open door for me, they made me feel a part of their extended family. The world will never two more generous, and loving people as Miss Mary and Greer
Love to you both...

It is with deep sadness I have come across this site today to find that Miss Mary and Greer have passed

So sad to hear of the death of Greer Lile. I'll never forget spending the summer of 1975 with your parents. They agreed to let me stay with them and "work" for them without ever having met me. What an awesome pair they were. My sincere condolences to you all.

Chere, Skip and Bret. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. Mr. Lile and Ms. Mary were so special to me. I regret that I was not able to attend the memorial services as I had planned because of health problems. It has been said that when God allows peoples paths to cross he has a reason and it is either for a lesson or a blessin. I was fortunate enough to receive both from your parents. A lesson which showed that good people do still exist and a blessin because I got to know...

I loved Mr. Lile. He was the dearest and most interesting person that I knew. He will be missed.

When I called Greer six months ago to tell him that Paul E. Pyle had passed away, Greer wept. When he composed himself, he asked if we would read something for him at Paul's service. Now, I weep for Greer's passing, as I a, sure that Paul would.

Chere, Skip & Bret, Just wanted to tell you how sorry I am about the passing of your dad.(did not know of your mom's passing) I loved your mom and dad very much. They were so very helpful and giving when Tom and I began our photography career. We considered them among our very best friends. After we moved to the country we did not see them very often. We did drop by as often as possible and loved sharing our veggies from our garden with them especially Tomatoes and lima beans. they so loved...
