Not sure what to say?

Dear Tate Family- please accept my deepest heartfelt condolences for this wonderful human. Met in my school daze; had the opportunity to design for he and AJ on a couple of their collaborative works. A soft spoken soul as I remember then. Had great hopes to see or hear of his life pursuits again someday. One half of a genius pair. Long ago known. My heart cries for another soul taken. May God bless and continue to comfort you at this time knowing that the brightness of the light of this soul...

My heartfelt condolences are offered to the family, many, many friends, and fans of Greg Tate. Greg Tate, the preeminent music writer, critic, producer, and founder of the band Burnt Sugar. May the love and many, many special memories you shared with your devoted loved one show how much your life was touched by him. He was an amazing son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin — a family man in the deepest African sense. May the God of comfort bless your grieving hearts with...

Dear Tate Family. My sincere and heart felt condolences to you all. Greg's loss is felt all around the world and I feel he still had so much more to teach us, show us and give to us. A special acknowledgement to his Grand Sun Nile. He loved you so, and your mother. Godspeed Greg.

During times of great sadness our hearts are flooded with tears and our minds full of memories with our lost loved ones that play on repeat in our minds. There is comfort to be found in the scriptures.

The first time I became aware of MrTate was by reading the Village Voice.I was fascinated with his ability
to use writing poetically-humorously-intellectually and have it fresh. After that introduction,I scoured the
remaining issues ,searching for anything he wrote.I have his books and continue to read them and use
them as resource. He is one of our griots and he will be missed.

Dear Tate Family Rory and I would like to take this oppurtunity to extend our condolences's on the loss of Greg Tate./may he rest in peace.best faith/rory

My condolences.

I first encountered Greg Tate through the Guelph Jazz Festival. I've followed him on Facebook ever since and his essays have really helped broaden by understanding of race related issues. Thank you for the insight and for the music.
