HOBART - Gregory J. Flores "Chief", age 64 of Hobart and formerly of Lake Station passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023.
Gregory was born on April 1, 1959, in Gary, IN to Louis B. and Jeannette (nee Hac) Flores. He retired as a truck driver from the Teamsters Local 142.
Gregory was the lead singer and played various instruments for the band Kamera. He also wrote and composed music for various global artists. Music was his biggest passion. Gregory will be remembered as a loving brother, son, uncle, great uncle, and friend.
Gregory was survived by his siblings: Louis Flores Jr., Cynthia (Thomas) Boyd, David (Linda) Flores, Francine (Brian) Malwin, Dennis (Darlene) Flores, Beverly (Michael) Churchill, Brian Flores; Brother-in-law William Hamady; many nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; and friend: Robin Baker and daughter: Makayla Baker.
Gregory is preceded in death by his parents Louis B and Jeannette (nee Hac) Flores; and his sister Diane Hamady.
Family and friends may gather at REES FUNERAL HOME, HOBART CHAPEL (600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart) on Tuesday May 16, 2023, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. A Funeral service will take place on Wednesday May 17, 2023, at 12:00 P.M. At rest, Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Flores family.
Ya know here I am again Mixing new music and "Chance" comes up on youtube. Love you brother. You are sooooooooooooooooooo missed.

What do you say when one of the best friends you ever had passed away? There are no words Greg was not the guy who even wanted to walk in and light up a room but he could walk in no matter how dark and find the light.music was his true passion and for those of us who could call him friend and play music with him were blessed.greg was one of my best friends for almost40 years and a true gift to all who knew him.have a peaceful journey my friend until I get to see you again
