Mr. Gregory Alan “Greg” Greves, age 43, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2004, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born July 20, 1960, in Bedford, Indiana, he was the son of Ronald & Vangie (Snyder) Greves. He was the husband of Stephanie Ann (Sublett) Greves, to whom he was united in marriage on October 6, 2001 in an outdoor ceremony at their home near Ryker’s Ridge.

Greg had lived in the Madison community since age four. He was a 1979 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School, where he ran track and played football. He was a member of “The Possey Club” and was probably the club’s president. He enjoyed riding four-wheelers, camping, walking through the woods and valleys, riding his Harley-Davidson, working in the garage with his son, Tyler, and enjoying all aspects of the outdoors. Greg was a friend to many and knew what it took to be a good friend. He never met a stranger and wherever he was his presence was known. His contagious laughter and remarks will linger in the memory of many. Greg was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Madison. He will be missed by his family & friends.

In addition to his wife, Stephanie, Greg will be missed by his daughter, Maddy Greves, of Madison; his son, Tyler Greves, of Madison; his step-daughter, Nayla Lunsford, of Madison; his step-son, Nathan Montgomery, of Madison; his parents, Ron & Vangie Greves, of Madison; his sister, Debbie Greves, of Mansfield, OH; his brother & sister-in-law, Randy & Mary Greves, of Madison; his paternal grandmother, Vera Greves, of Lawrenceburg, IN; his mother-in-law, Carol Ann Sublett, of Vevay, IN; one nephew, Ryan Greves; three nieces, Kelsey Greves, Hannah Meisberger and Shalynn Sublett; one sister-in-law, Shila Sublett, of East Enterprise, IN; two brothers-in-law, Scott Sublett & his wife, Michelle, of Richlands, NC and Steve Sublett, of Chicago, IL; his best friend, Doug Helton, of Madison; several aunts, uncles and many cousins.

Reading the previous entries, sounds like he grew up to be an awesome man. I sure wish I would have been able to get to know Greg as an adult.

Ron, Vangie, Debbie and Randy; you have always been a special family in my memories. God will now take care of Greg who I feel will always be watching over you until you meet again. I never knew his wife or children but my sympathy also goes out to them.
