I loved the man, he was not only an outstanding Dr. But a good friend. I first met him in 1972 when I went to work for his dad and he was a young man in college. When I was diagnosed with COPD in the early 90s he became my Pulmonary Dr. I'll miss him very muc

I just learned of Greg’s death. Greg and I first met in Southern CA at a speakers meeting in 1997. He welcomed us in 1998 on our move to ottumwa, IA, where I worked for the predecessor to Unity Point as a pulmonologist. Greg and his partners hosted us to their skybox at an Iowa Cubs game that fall. I so appreciated Greg’s warmth, kindness and assistance throughout the past 20 years to my retirement at end of 2018. Many of my pulmonary and sleep patients I then referred to Greg and his...

I just learned about the death of Dr Hicklin. He was my husband, Mike’s Dr while he fought his battle with lung cancer. He was such a compassionate man. Just a couple of months ago, he became my brothers Dr. I assured my brother that he was in good hands. He was such a great guy. My sympathies to his family and friends. Dianna Diehm

Greg Hicklin was my teacher in med school, and cared for my father for decades- even gave him his home phone number with instructions to call day or night should his chronic illness require. Both shared a passion for fine wine, a good corn feed...but especially their unwavering and enthusiastic support of the Iowa Hawkeyes- Go Hawks!!! At dad's last office visit - upon learning of my dad's sister's recent death- he clasped both of his great big hands around those of my father, leaned forward,...

Though we'd lost touch since I retired recently, my fond memories of Greg Hicklin stretch back to 1985 and his wise counsel complementing outstanding diagnostic skills. I absorbed only a small fraction of what he so effortlessly taught but have been well-served ever since. He was truly a pillar of medical education and practice.
My deep condolences to Melanie and Family.

I am so sorry for the loss of the most kind and thoughtful Dr. I think I have ever met. It was such a shock to hear. He was my mom’s Dr and always made her feel best. We’re going to miss that laughter. Rest In Peace Dr. Hicklin.
