Sanders Funeral Service - Kingfisher Obituary

Gregory Michael Kochenower, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at home with his wife and children. He was born on February 28, 1959, in Kingfisher, OK to Lester and Jane Kochenower. He was the oldest brother to Dianna and Robert. Greg attended Kingfisher High School, graduating in 1977. He briefly attended Northern Oklahoma College before marrying the love of his life, Karen Causey, on August 25, 1978. He went on to work in the oilfield in Dover, OK, for Beard Oil Company. He continued to work in the oil and gas industry for 40 years before ending his career as a Production Foreman for Chesapeake Energy Corporation in 2018.

Greg loved fishing and vacationing with his family in Colorado, but his most cherished time was spent with his wife, the joy of his life. He made Christ Lord of his life in August of 1978 and continued to be a faithful follower of Christ until the Lord called him home. Those who knew Greg would describe him as a man of few words. He had a servant's heart, humbly serving and loving His Lord, family and friends so deeply. He made each one of us a better person.

Greg was preceded in death by his father, Lester Kochenower, grandparents Gene and Mildred Kochenower and Versa and Verona Leisher. He leaves loving memories with his wife, Karen; daughter, Staci Francis and husband, Austin of Kingfisher; son, Scott Kochenower and wife Whitney of Lawton; grand blessings, Hannah and Mack Francis and Brett, Hadley and Connor Kochenower.

Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, November 5 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church Kingfisher, with interment to follow at Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Memory Lane, P.O. Box 21, Kingfisher, OK 73750.

I am sorry for your families loss

Cousins are our first friends. Visiting Grandma Weimer in Kingfisher was a big kid party. Tell your Dad and my Mom Opie Hi for me. Rest now, you are safely home. Hugs to all my Kochenower family. Love you all.
