Liptak, Gregory S. MD, MPHRetsof : The falling snow on Sunday was the heavens weeping that Gregory S. Liptak, MD, MPH was taken too early from this world. For 14 months he fought a lethal and rare form of cancer that kills most people in half that time; he died at the age of 65 surrounded by his...

I worked in Pediatric Administration at the University of Rochester in 1980 and 1981 and came to know Dr. Liptak at this time, and later still working at the UR although not in Pediatrics, as our paths would cross in the Medical Center he still always shared a hello. A very nice person and physician... I listen to a music cd of a concert done by Peter, Paul & Mary and there is a A song of dedication "to all those who have given their lives and who are giving their...

Dear Liptak family,
Seeing again the reminder of Dr. Liptak's passing is heartfelt and emotional. I had the wonderful opportunity to listen to his enormous amount of medical wisdom for several years at the National SBAA conferences. He was truely a dedicated healthcare professional who inspires me to keep the knowledge and experts together to help those with birth defects like SB. I cherish his memory today about to attend the national conference in Minnesota. He is generally missed....

Dr.Liptak started right away to take care of my high risk baby at Strong Memorial, and in the 70's he made house calls, and my son was 1 of them. This is a great loss for the children and Mums and Dads.He made us feel we can handle anything that came along with our children. Thank you very much for those trips to see my baby during snow storms at our home, I don't know any other Doctor that did that, We miss you, Rest Well, D and Family

I've been thinking about and looking for Dr Liptak for a great while now! Sadly I'm just now learning he has passed on. I was a patient of his of 25 years ago. I have been looking for him and Dr Jackman to show them how they've impacted my life and how I've grown since my surgery they have had a hand in. So sorry for the loss and he is truly missed.

I just learned of Greg's passing from the AACPDM Newsletter. I had the privilege of serving with Greg on the AACPDM Board of Directors for several years. Greg made important contributions to the progress of that organization through his many constructive contributions to the deliberations and planning programs of the Academy. He also made numerous presentations at the Annual Meetings of the Academy that greatly enriched the scientific programs and educational activities of the...

I learned only yesterday of Dr Liptak's passing. He became my son's pediatrician over 30 years ago because a rather sweet nurse came into my room at Strong and found me crying. My son was 1 day old and I did not have a doctor for him. Another, not so sweet, nurse had just told me " we won't let you leave Strong until you have a doctor for that baby!". A short time later Greg Liptak bounced into my room and after examining my baby, agreed to be his pediatrician. I...

My Husband and I just learned of his passing. He was our son's doctor , also he guided us through the darkness of Autism and showed us the light. He was a wonderful man and will be missed .

i just learned of Dr. Liptak's death. He was my preceptor in the Pediatric ED at Strong Memorial in 1979. I was a graduate student in nursing, getting my MS in pediatrics. Dr. Liptak's support of me and the role I was trying to create has always been a special memory of my time at the UofR. He gave me guidance and direction and has always been someone I privately thank for giving so generously of himself. He will be missed and I am certain that he touched many lives over the years, just...
