Gregory Mabe Obituary
A gentle and quiet soul, Greg will be remembered fondly by all who knew him for his kindness, calm spirit and his ever-present willingness to lend a hand whenever someone was in need.
Greg was born July 10, 1950, in Hart County to James Floyd Mabe and Anne Elizabeth Seymour Mabe. He grew up surrounded by the warmth and love of a large family. He was one of 10 children and shared a deep bond with each of his siblings throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Norman Seymour, Michael Mabe and Steven Mabe; and sisters, Anita Christie and Gayle Wallace.
He is survived by sisters, Susie Trapp (Charlie) and Jacque Cottrell; brothers, Dale Mabe (Elaine) and Jerry Mabe. He also is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Greg was an avid collector, always excited to share his most recent treasured find, whether it be an old baseball card or a unique coin. While visiting him at Kensington Manor nursing home you could find him organizing his coin collection and eagerly sharing information on which coin he needed to complete his set. If you did not bring him a Little Debbie snack, he might politely suggest on your next visit that you bring one.
Greg's Christian faith began at Gilead Baptist Church in Glendale, where he was a member. His faith continued to be nourished by the worship services provided at Kensington. With his Bible in hand, he would attend services as often as possible.
On the promise that we will be together again, we say goodbye to our beloved brother in Christ, Gregory Alan Mabe.
Arrangements will be determined at a later date.
