Rivet Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. - Merrimack Obituary

Greg Maglathlin, 63, passed away in his home in Merrimack NH. He was born in Amherst, MA on August 11, 1953 to Leon and Eileen Maglathlin, both still living. Greg is survived by his brother, Peter Maglathlin of Darien, Connecticut, and sister, Leslie Shula of Cooper City, Florida. Greg was married to Juliana Maglathlin (nee Puksta) for 20 years, fathering two daughters, Rebecca Maglathlin and Katie Glowa. Greg was also married to Lorna Maglathlin (nee Maguire) and was a great friend to her three girls Caroline, Catherine and Meghan Maguire. Greg is also survived by his partner, Eun-Ju Cho, of Seoul, South Korea and their beloved rescue pup Leo.

Greg was an MIT graduate, class of ‘75, and former president of his fraternity, Phi Sigma Kappa. He was best known for having equal parts radiant intellect and disarming charisma. He started his career at the former Sanders Associates and went on to found multiple companies, including Codem Systems. Greg was a satellite and radio integration consultant with a global reputation. He supported international space, defense, and security programs with a capability and expertise that will be impossible to replace. Along with these accomplishments, Greg was a lifelong learner and tinkerer, continually expanding his skillset and challenging himself and others around him. News of the departure of Callsign AB1NE will circle the globe and reverberate throughout the universe.

Greg was always fond of the saying by Arthur C. Clarke that, “any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic” and it informed the name of his consulting firm, PFM Solutions. Now, it describes you Dad. We love you.

A celebration of Greg’s life will be held on April 29th, 2017 from 6-11pm at the Puritan Conference Center, 245 Hooksett Rd, Manchester, NH. Family and friends are invited to share their favorite memories of Greg over food and drink.

RIP My friend

Even though much time has passed, Gregory is still fondly thought of with a warm heart. I had the honor of briefly knowing him through his beloved rescue pup Leo at the boarding facility he went too. Everyone was excited to see both he and Gregory walk through the door. I also had the incredible honor of having Leo come home with me for his last days. I´m sorry to let those who knew ends. Loved Leo that he passed a couple of years ago. I should´ve thought to reach out sooner. My apologies....

Even after two years its hard to believe that I will never be able to enjoy the good times that we shared together. A great person like Greg will never be forgotten. I miss My Friend Greg.

Greg and I were pals during our self-defining eras as students on college-preparatory paths at Longmeadow High School.
We were teammates going for it individually and collectively on the LHS cross-country and track teams. I was saddened to hear his physical distance race ended at 63, but his underlying contagious, motivating spirit can continue in all of us who knew him.
Greg and I also served as acolytes at St. Andrew's church to facilitate morning-prayer and communion services....

I worked with Greg on what I believed was his first project after he joined Sanders out of college. I often take credit for "breaking him in", although we all know that wasn't possible. He was a wonderful friend and a great engineer and he will be missed.

My deepest condolences to the Maglathlin family. Greg lived life to its fullest and will be deeply missed.

Greg was a great friend and colleague. His skills in engineering were unparalleled in our industry. His passing is a great loss for all who loved him and worked with him. I will never forget him. Please accept my deepest condolences.

I had the pleasure to meet Greg years ago when I assisted him selling and then buying his home in Merrimack. Lots of stories working along such an interesting and fun man. He actually chased a house cat that tried to escape. Tackled it like a football player! Great guy and I am so sorry for the family.

Please know Greg was a great friend to me, Jane and my son Tim during our days in San Antonio. Greg will always remain in our memory.
