Gregory Gale Rafferty, 55, went home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2014. Survived by children, Kristina Diane (Matt) Krause, Michael Dennis (Carola) Rafferty, Virginia Kaylynn Rafferty, Crystal Marie (Dennis) Brown and Cheyenne Mark (Tanisha) Weatherford; siblings, Patricia Louise Shray, Diane Lynn Rafferty, James Michael (Lori) Rafferty, Sandra Jean (Will) Tanquary and Gary Dennis Rafferty; fourteen grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Ann Rafferty; and parents. Greg was born to , James L. and Dorothy E. Rafferty on August 6, 1958, in Pueblo. He enjoyed all outdoor activities. In 1973, he moved to Westminster, Colo., where he attended and graduated from Westminster High School in 1976. Greg participated in a youth music ministry group while a member of Abundant Life Christian Center prior to enlisting in the United States Air Force. He served as an aircraft mechanic for 13 years, three of which were in the Federal Republic of Germany. After leaving the military, Greg continued his career as an aircraft mechanic spending the next 17 years as a Federal Civilian Employee assigned to the 97FSS/FSMC, Altus Air Force Base in Oklahoma. Pending medical retirement, Greg returned to Colo. in 2013. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Cremation, Leeward Funeral Home, Honolulu, Hawaii. Memorial service, 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, Family Worship Center, 3800 Parker Blvd. Military honors, U.S. Air Force Honor Guard and the Pueblo Veterans' Ritual Team In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
